A civil engineer is a person who is responsible for everything which happens on a construction site. who create a plane, make a budget, valuation, and estimate, tests on and off-site, create a report and maintain every aspect of construction.

When we want to construct our house, building, and any other component then we require a person who knows the basics of the material, construction steps, technical knowledge, and different test of materials. so, that person is a civil engineer who creates and inspects every construction. 

whereas civil engineering is a branch or profession of designing, planning, estimating, and constructing different components of structures like dams, bridges, canals, harbors, buildings, and tunnels.

What are the roles and responsibilities of a civil engineer?

• managing, creating, maintaining, and scheduling the construction work or project, it should be a light project like a small house, renovation work and only plastering work.

• Manage, and maintain machines and tools which we use on construction sites. for example, Excavators, backhoes, Dragline excavators, Bulldozers, Graders, Wheel Tractor Scraper, Trenchers, and Loaders. these are machines that we work with on construction sites as site engineers.

• where, when, and how much to purchase. there are a lot of materials, machines, and labor on the construction site and everything has some fixed amount of pay and schedule. so as an engineer we have to make sure where to buy machines and tools, how much materials buy, how much labors invite for work, and at which location we need materials and labor. so above is a question that we need to answer on-site as site engineers.

• Monitor process, in every step of construction there is fix method and technique to follow to get high-quality work. we have to make sure which method is best for work and how much quality of work we can get.

• guide and mentor staff on site. labors have the best skills in their work and it is also true that they have good knowledge than civil engineers, but they doest know technical things, and where to start. so guidance is very important for them in such cases where the plan is very difficult to understand and some complications are there.

• problems, on every construction site a lot of problems generate like sometimes labor protests for some reason, material requirements, and conflicts between owner and contractor.

• Government job chances:- Every year there is a lot of job opening there in R&B (road and building department) and water body. with this, you can get a chance to work in some research institute of government. as these jobs are government so I think you all know about job and salary.

• Work opportunities abroad:- Australia, Canada, and us who have fewer populations but high land areas where construction is a booming industry. and with job opportunities salaries are also good.

• Work environment:- Just like a computer engineer you don't need to sit and work in one room for many years. 

Disadvantages of civil engineer

• High risk:- As engineers have to work with steel, height, and some heavy equipment and machinery so there are very high chances of accidents and risk to get injury. 

• Politics between employees: this problem is common on site but you can even lose your job if you dig into that politics. small conflicts between employees, laborers, owners, and builders.

• One mistake costs you a lot: On-site If you miss some measurements and components become extra large then it will cost you a lot because in that case, you have to repair it, destroy that component and rebuild that part. to do this you need more material, more labor, and a lot of money.
