Difference between an architect and a civil engineer

You are the owner of one plot(30 x 40) area and you want to build a house over that area to live in. Now we know that to build a house we require some person who has a piece of better knowledge of construction, like a contractor, civil engineer, and architect.

before going further we need to make a list of our requirements. so, in this case, we required 2 floors, on the first floor we need only one room, toilet, bath and on parking. and on the second floor, we need two bedrooms, one hall, toilet, bathroom, and kitchen. also with this, we need good interior as well as exterior design.

So, to build the house you will need one contractor and discuss requirements, plot area, and other essential data.

Now everything is done and to build the house contractor appoints one civil engineer on site. But civil engineer knows how to build a house with materials that are good and how to manage the whole construction site but they don't know about designing the house the different elevation of the house and how to select the size of the bedroom and overall, design things related to the house.

So here to design our house a contractor will appoint an architect who will give all the dimensions to the different rooms available in the house and the elevation of the house, overall designs related to the structure will be given by the architect.

Now suppose after civil engineering someone does masters in structural engineering. so the structural engineer is the subdivision of the civil engineer. In some cases when we are constructing buildings of 15 or 14 floors at the time we require a three-person structure engineer, civil Engineer, and architecture. At the time the first architect gives the design of the building. but the location of the beam, column, and footing design and size will be given by the structural engineer. 

so, this is the main difference how architect and civil engineer difference.

Civil engineer 

A civil engineer is a person who works with the construction material different types of tests on-site on the material and the billing work of that material machinery and labor work.

If there will be any case where a building or a house collapse due to some material issue or construction issue then the only civil engineer will be responsible for that damage.

Architect

An architect is a person who deals with only the design of the building whether it is external design or internal design, in other words, the interior or exterior also there designs different components of the high-rise building.

The architect doesn't know about the dimension of the beam, column, and the footing's different sizes of reinforcement provide in the building. they just provided design and based on the design structure of engineer design the column and beam in footing so after that once the structural engineer design this whole structure then again the drawing has been reviewed to architecture and if there are some changes in the drawing and architect do it otherwise the drawing when to the final approval and once drawing approved. Construction work will begin.

Structural engineers (civil engineers)

A structural engineer is a person who had completed his master's instructor engineers after completing a bachelor's in civil engineering. Structural engineering is responsible for load and load distribution in the building. 

If the structure will collapse or get some damage in the early years due to some component failure to handle that amount of load then the structure of engineers will be responsible for that.

Which is the best Architect or civil engineer

The best field is different for everyone. Because some people like to work in the office while some want to work in open areas. 

Many people can't work in an environment where they have to sit for the whole day, while some prefer a job where they don't need to stand up from their chairs. 

So, if you want to work in an open environment then you can prefer a civil engineer. The CIVIL engineer also earns a good amount of money. But in this case, you can't able to start your own construction company. You have to do a job if you don't have very high finance.

If you want to work in a calm environment then you can prefer an architect. Also, you will get good money and the best thing is you can start your own architecture firm. It requires very low finance.
